Great Backpacking Saw, July 29, 2011 By: Sarah
At a total weight of 160g inside of its plastic bag, this is a great saw for backpacking. I easily cut through smaller (<5") branches with it, and with some patience you can cut through much larger logs. As others have mentioned, it does have some quirks you have to get used to. Most notably, it does easily bind, typically near the end of a cut. You have to make sure you don't force it out or bend it. The best thing to do is bend/lift the branch/log to remove the pressure pinching it, and then it will usually slide out pretty easily. The quirks and limitations are well worth dealing with for such a lightweight and effective saw. I take it with me anytime I go backpacking.

Absolutely unreal how strong it is., June 12, 2011 By:Karen
I just returned from a four day/three nights camping excursion where this pocket saw was included in my gear. No one in the camping group initially thought this item was going to work, and assumed it was just like all the cheap wire versions we are used to seeing break immediately. Over the course of the trip this saw was relied upon time and time again to produce firewood, and did its job with ease. One person, who had brought a really nice and sharp hatchet, actually put his hatchet aside and started using this saw. While the product description says it will cut logs up to 3 inches across we were cutting apart logs four to six inches repeatedly. The most amazing thing about this saw was it seemed to retain all of its sharpness even after the trip! Definitely give this saw a try, as you will be amazed at how capable it actually is.
