The 80L, like all of the Autobins in the range, works using a touchless sensor. By hovering your hand over the ‘open’ button, the Autobin’s three-second open-close cycle will be activated. This is usually plenty of time to put any items into the bin; however, if more time is required, the lid will stay open for as long as the sensor, located on the top of the bin, detects movement. When you have finished using it, the lid seals tightly shut, meaning that no germs or bad odours can escape. This hands-free technology not only ensures that its usage is more hygienic, but also helps in making sure that the bin avoids incurring long-term damage.
However, when it comes to longevity, you needn’t have any worries. The bin’s sturdy construction (it is made from premium quality, brushed stainless steel) guarantees that it is durable and long-lasting. It is also finger-print-proof and has a neat and tidy design, helped by the retaining ring which holds the bag in place. This is another handy innovation, which works by sitting inside the bin, meaning that the bag does not hang over the edges of the bin.
